This past Tuesday, we had the joy of welcoming a group of incredible young people from Lakepointe Church in Rockwall, Texas. Around 30 middle school students came ready to serve—and what a powerful day it was.

From the moment they arrived, their hearts were evident. They didn’t just come to “help”—they came to be part of something bigger.

Serving with Purpose
Together, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work in ways that will directly bless our downtown homeless community this week and beyond.
  • We prepared snack bags filled with candy and treats, each one paired with something even more meaningful—handwritten encouragement cards and scriptures.
  • We made breakfast sandwiches for upcoming Sunday services, helping ensure that people walking through our doors feel welcomed and cared for.
  • The group also cooked a large amount of ground beef, which will be used as part of a meal served this Sunday to our homeless community in downtown Dallas.

Every task, big or small, was done with intention and love. It wasn’t just preparation—it was ministry.
Rooted in God’s Word
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10
This verse came to life before our eyes. Each student brought something unique—joy, energy, compassion, and willingness—and used it to serve others. It was a beautiful reflection of God’s grace in action.
More Than Service—It Was Worship
One of the most special moments of the day wasn’t something we planned—it was something we experienced together.
We paused to worship and pray over everything we had done.
In that moment, it became clear: this wasn’t just about food, bags, or logistics. It was about offering our work to God. It was about unity. It was about hearts aligned in Christ.
(And yes—we wish we had captured that moment on video, but some moments are meant to be fully lived.)

Growing Through Serving
We love seeing young people step into what it means to serve—not out of obligation, but out of faith.
There is something powerful that happens when young adults and students begin to understand that:
  • Serving is worship
  • Giving is joy
  • Fellowship is built through shared purpose
By coming together, working side by side, and lifting everything up in prayer, these students didn’t just serve—they fellowshipped in Christ.

A Heartfelt Thank You
To every student and leader who came out—thank you.
Thank you for your energy.
Thank you for your willingness.
Thank you for your hearts.
We love having young people come alongside us, learn what it means to serve, and grow deeper in their faith through it.
You blessed our church more than you know.
